Jeff Jensen
Chief Executive Officer
Jeff has more than 20 years experience in the bioscience and industrial sectors. He most recently served as President and CEO of Eksigent Technologies, a leading developer of microfluidic platforms for bioanalytical and medical device applications. He was responsible for signing major partnerships and distribution deals with companies such as Applied Biosystems and J&J. Prior to Eksigent, Jeff was COO of Mobius Technologies and held management positions at Raychem and Pall Corporation. Jeff received his BS from Cornell University in Chemical Engineering and completed the Program for Management Development at Harvard Business School.
Cristian Ionescu-Zanetti, Ph.D.
Chief Technology Officer
Cristian is an accomplished bio-physicist with 10 years of instrumentation experience in the research environment. He was most recently a post-doctoral researcher in the Bioengineering Dept. at UC Berkeley, where he invented and developed the core technology for Fluxion's microfluidic systems. Prior to that, Cristian was a post-doctoral researcher at UC Santa Barbara. Cristian has authored over 15 peer-reviewed scientific publications and presented at numerous national and international conferences. Cristian received his Ph.D. in Biophysics from UC Santa Cruz and BS in Physics from UC Santa Barbara.
Tom Driscoll
Vice President Marketing & Business Development
Tom has served in executive management roles in life sciences companies for over 22 years, most recently as the Vice President of Global Marketing and Business Development at Molecular Devices. Prior to Molecular Devices Tom joined BD Biosciences holding management roles of increasing responsibilities including Vice President of the BioImaging business. Prior to that, he held marketing and product development roles where he was primarily responsible for the global launch of hundreds of life science products covering various instrument technology platforms, molecular and cellular biology reagent technologies, and service models. Tom received his BS in Molecular Biology from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
Jody Beecher, Ph.D.
Vice President, Operations
Jody has over 10 years of experience in technology development and commercialization of life science tools. She most recently served as the Director of Chip Development at Predicant Biosciences where she led the team to develop and fabricate microfluidic chips for protein separation and detection. Prior to this, she has held key leadership roles at Affymetrix, Ciphergen Biosystems and Surface Logix. Jody received her PhD in Polymer Chemistry from Cornell University and BS in Chemistry from the University of Delaware.
Michael Schwartz
Program Director
Michael is an experienced biomedical technology professional having served in management and product development capacities. He was most recently Project Manager at Advanced Stent Technologies, where he led the development of a novel coronary stent from inception through clinical trials, when the company was acquired by Boston Scientific. Michael has also held development positions at Converge Medical and BioCardia. Michael received his MS in Biomedical Engineering from Columbia University and BS in Bioengineering from UC Berkeley.
Mark Atlas
Sales Director
Mark has 20 years experience in sales and marketing of capital equipment for biotech and pharmaceutical research instrumentation. Mark has extensive direct sales experience with Waters Corporation and has served in management roles for a variety of startup companies including VP of Sales and Marketing for the asset allocation division of SciQuest and Director of Marketing Programs for Eksigent Technologies. Mark received his BS in Pharmacology from the University of California at Santa Barbara.
Steve Kushman
Manufacturing Manager
Steve has 35 years of experience in a variety of engineering, operations and management roles in both large, established firms and start-up companies. Most recently he was Manufacturing Manager at Eksigent Technologies, where he built the Operations group responsible for production of analytical instruments and consumables for the HPLC market. Earlier he held an Operations position at Mockingbird Networks, a telecom startup, as well as Engineering positions at Raychem Corporation and General Electric Co. Steve received his MS in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley and BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
