Fluxion is currently looking for a test engineer responsible for supporting the testing, design, and transferto manufacturing of bioanalytical systems. The successful candidate will be an excellent individualcontributor, as well as interact with the research and development strategic input for engineering anddevelopment of a new clinical research product line currently in development. The test engineer willsupport all phases of the product development process, from prototype design testing, to beta testing,pilot manufacturing and ultimate release to manufacturing.The successful candidate will be a key member of the development team and will report to the projectlead. The Test Engineer will:
• Develop a test plan for critical hardware, firmware, and software systems in order to inform thetriage of design alternatives and ensure reliability of the end product
• Implement testing plans for the instrument prototypes and sub-systems, produce reports, andassist in data driven decision making for key design alternatives in areas of high development risk
• Design and build test fixtures as needed, including some test software routines
• Assist in the development of an FMEA (Failiure Mode and Effects Analysis) document
• Design and test benchtop instrument subsystems, including mechanical, electronic and optical components
• Follow established engineering practices for product development projects that will ensurecompliance with required quality standards for the end product
• As needed, support any modification of current products needed to reduce field failure and toimplement new features,
• Support manufacturing operations on a as-needed basis to increase product quality and decrease labor requirements
• Provide input to the senior development team to define ongoing product designs andspecifications, estimate development timelines and risk, and assure on-time delivery of productsthat fit customer needs

Profile and Requirements
• B.S. in engineering (mechanical, electrical, bioengineering, or an equivalent technical field) orequivalent experience
• 2+ years of successful experience in the area of hardware/mechanical design and testing, aworking knowledge of systems and software development
• Working knowledge of CAD design (SolidWorks strongly preferred) and documentation(machining drawings, system diagrams)
• Knowledge of design control protocols
• Previous experience in the life science tools industry is highly desired
• Excellent written and oral presentation skills
