Fluxion Biosciences Expands Sales TeamFive New Representatives Added to East Coast Network Monday April 14, 2008 SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Fluxion Biosciences announces the expansion of its sales team with the addition of five new sales representatives on the East Coast. With these additions, Fluxion enhances its ability to meet the increasing demand for its systems among microbiology and cell biology research customers. “Since we introduced our second-generation BioFlux™ 200 System at the American Society for Cell Biology in December, interest has been building rapidly,” commented Mark Atlas, director of sales for Fluxion. “Researchers have been clamoring for the ability to conduct live cell assays under shear flow conditions. The ability to have the physiological relevance of a shear-flow dependent assay with the throughput provided by the BioFlux system is driving tremendous interest. “We now have people on the ground to handle east-coast sales and application support from Florida to Maine,” Atlas continued. “We will continue our expansion over the coming months in the U.S. as well as in Europe.” The Fluxion BioFlux 200 system is ideal for live cell imaging in applications such as cell adhesion, stem cell differentiation, imaging cytometry and microbial biofilm studies. BioFlux 200 incorporates Fluxion’s proprietary microfluidic design to deliver an automated, reproducible system for studying live cells and biofilms under controlled-shear conditions. The system simulates in vivo physiological conditions more closely than other approaches. About Fluxion Biosciences Fluxion’s proprietary microfluidic platform enables precise functional analysis of individual cells in a multiplexed, high throughput format. Fluxion’s systems meet the rigorous demands of life science and drug discovery scientists by providing an intuitive, easy-to-use operating system for single-cell biology. Products include the BioFlux system for cellular interaction analysis and live cell imaging, and the Ionflux automated patch clamp system for ion channel analysis.
