Tumors have a close connection to the environment surrounding them. From lymphocytes to signaling molecules, tumors interact with and strongly influence their microenvironment. Tumors can promote immunotolerance, encourage tumor angiogenesis, and create several other issues for the surrounding area. In order to comprehend these intricacies in full, analyzing the microenvironment in vitro is crucial.

The BioFlux system is a high-throughput microfluidic platform ideal for analysis of several oncological processes, including the development and behavior of a tumor microenvironment. By controlling for pressure, temperature, and flow, BioFlux creates a physiologically relevant atmosphere for an oncological assay.

A BioFlux system was used to analyze CHO cell binding on prolectin/streptavidin coated channels at a shear stress levels under 0.1 dyn/cm². Prolectin binding and expression was studied in several different circumstances under shear flow in BioFlux channels (for more information, see Le Pendu et al., 2016).
